Hi,

We had our interview for adjustment of status on 10/21 after 13 month waiting.

At the interview the officer said my medical is expired and I have to do it again and send back. He said the rest is pretty straight forward and also my I130 was already approved.

They received my updated I693 on 11/03 and are still reviewing it. Does anyone have similar experience and can tell me how long you had to wait to finall get your green card?

Thank you.

Hi,

Adjustment of status of I485. Marriage to us citizen.

What box was checked on page 1 of Form I-485, Part 2. Application type?

What difference does it make from which visa they're adjusting? OP already had their interview and only the medical is expired.

OP, basically USCIS has one last checkbox to tick before your file is fully approved and closed. Houston is a busy field office so estimating a response is futile. However, if 30 days have passed since they received your new medical without any contact, it is a good idea to make an InfoPass appointment and inquire.

At this point, there's little you can do to expedite but also very little to worry about. Your case seems to be approved and just waiting on this form.

Good luck.

Thank you mounat.

I am not exactly worried about not getting approved. But as life plays you by, we have a family emergency overseas and I need to travel in about 2 weeks.

OK, that sucks and sorry to hear. It won't hurt to pop into the field office to ask via an InfoPass this week though they may have no info in the system yet.

Did you apply for AP? Is it still valid? You can use that for travel if you have to.

Even if the new medical is reviewed today and the case receives final approval, it is still 1-2 weeks or more before you receive your card in the mail.

My guess is you probably won't be able to travel with the card in two weeks.

Good luck

Before you go in defense or sassy mode, moderators here sometimes ask those questions so that the topic can be placed into the specific/right forum.
