I filled K1 visa for my fiancee and IR2 for my child... (My fiancee and I have a child but we arent married thats why i filed K1 visa for her and IR2 visa for the child) My fiancee went for an interview at the US embassy in Ghana and was given a refusal letter. But the child was asked for DNA. I called the NVC to inquire on the fiancee case and was told that her visa is not denied but the consular officer is requesting for DNA of our child.

The DNA result came back as a match 99.9999999%. This means the child is my child.

So what should i expect now.

Does anyone have experience like this or any advice for me?

I read somewhere that having a child with your fiancée or your husband is one of the biggest proof and evidence To get a visa issued by a co officer.. . so DNA result is a match .. wish you a good luck..

Why didn't you file CRBA for the child? You don't have enough physical presence in the US to transmit citizenship?

I'm assuming most likely your fiancée's K-1 will be approved now.

@Lmmjvsd . Thank you for your encouragement. I pray they approved them

@ EM_Vandaveer. I couldnt file for CBRA for the child because i had the child before i became US Citizen

@Kumar01. The child was on the fiancee forms as K2 as well. But i couldnt process it at the embassy because of the IR2.

Why didn't you apply for a K2 visa for the child instead?

I don't think K2 is advisable. The child is his. K2 means the child derives his status based on the mother but IR2 is derived from the dad who I presume is a citizen.

I stand corrected!
