Hi VJ members

I need your advice about my case as it's been significantly delayed by the NVC, they took 6 weeks for initial review before sending a checklist requesting a translation of the marriage certificate however it was issued in the official language of the country we're applying from, a military certificate however it was already sent with the package and a foreign police certificate from Qatar however the beneficiary stayed there in 2012 for less than 6 month and after several calls and speaking with a supervisor who promised to take it off the list they said they're still requiring the other 2 documents so we had to send them and they received it all on August 12 and now it has passed the timeframe and no update, we called them again and we spoke with a supervisor who said she will be reviewing the case but it will take up to 6 weeks!!! So more waiting for no reason! Whenever I'm calling they say you have to wait 6 more weeks as the supervisor sent your case to the review department and here comes the shock! One of their agents told me that if you didn't here from us after this 6 additional weeks we will send it to the supervisor again!!! I can't understand it and don't know what to do now they have all the documents they required but the case is not complete however it passed the timeframe.

Please help

It's unfortunate that the NVC has had your file since December last year and you only just sent the documents needed this summer. Earlier this year they were turning cases around much faster. Now they have really slowed down and everyone is waiting longer than usual. I waited seven weeks one day and that was without a checklist.

Some people have had success with involving their congressperson so you might want to consider that.
