Is it ok to print pictures from the computer? It is in color and we added the time and date on the pictures, or do we need to go to an image shop to print the photos on glossy paper? Do you think this will be acceptable? We are applying for a CR1 visa.

We printed our photos on plain paper using a color laser printer, and had no problems.

There are no prizes for fancy photos in this game. They are just secondary evidence to give someone who has never met you before an idea of the status of your relationship. Don't overdo it with photos. A selection taken over the course of the relationship printed onto regular computer paper with a one-line description of when and where and who the people are is ideal.

I did the captions like this:

February 2015, beneficiary's birthday. MGM Grand Hotel, Las Vegas. Petitioner and beneficiary.

November 2015, Thanksgiving. Petitioner's sister's home. Petitioner, beneficiary, petitioner's sister, her husband and their children

I used the terms 'petitioner' and 'beneficiary' rather than our actual names because I'm sure they look at many cases each day and it would be unfair to expect them to know who Jane and John are. They don't even care about the names. To them you are just a receipt number and either a beneficiary or a petitioner.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Never even thought about using printer paper! We printed them out like regular photos and then wrote in ink on the bank. I wrote names and rough dates of photos (either exact date or Month/Year depending on if I could pinpoint the dates). I didn't have any actual proof of the dates (my camera's date/time wasn't set) but we had a variety of hairstyles/hair length in the photos over the course of 3 years so it was obvious they weren't all taken at the same time.

Didn't think to call us "beneficiary" and "petitioner". I didn't really start using those terms until I started calling the NVC.

Many threads on this subject. You can usse the search tool to view them.

Keep it plain, simple, and easy. I printed our photos on white copy paper using a color printer. Wrote the date, location, and who is in the picture. I sent 4-5 pics.

It's so crazy how unclear the whole process is. I sent in around 40 photos. If 4-5 would have been fine, that would have been nice to know! haha
