Does anyone have experience of entering into the Casablanca embassy with their spouse for the CR1 Interview?

We have read nothing but horror stories about the Casablanca CO interview experiences and need as much prepping as possible. Feel free to share anything and everything, VJ-ers.

My husband passed his K-1 interview but failed his drug test. We ended up doing a CR-1 after his petition expired. PM me and I'll ask him some of the questions they asked to see if it helps

Was he he given a ban? Did he test positive or admit to past use?

He was given a one year ban after testing positive for marijuanna, but did not self identify as a past user. He was also given a document that stated he had 4 mandatory drug tests for the next year with doctor so and so. After he finished his ban, then they would issue his visa. They didn't. They called me a few days later saying they were sending his packet back. I got the notice exactly 15 months after his interview that his petition had expired. They waited until he went back to the embassy to send his petition back.

Hi, Hannah! The US citizen spouse/fiancé typically is not allowed inside with the beneficiary. With that being said, when my hubby had his interview, I was at the cafe next door. The CO asked him where I was, and he told her. She then, asked him to fetch me, which he did. She interviewed me, as well. I had, years earlier, petitioned my ex for a K-1 and she was "just making sure" the relationship with my husband was real, as my ex had been a scammer. It was beneficial for us to have my hubby mention where I was. Prior to his interview, it was usually a good thing to mention that the US citizen spouse/fiancé was there. I have not read too many negative narratives where it wasn't. Good luck!

Rest your mind a little. I've checked out your blog and you two are adorable! Yes, there are many horror stories from the consulate but they usually come from couples with age gaps, the woman being older and divorced with children, and they have spent little time together in person.

Your situation is not a case that raises the red flags. Think about it this way: when couples breeze through the process, they have little to talk about. Therefore, you don't hear how easy it was for them.

As others have stated, the spouse is usually not allowed onto the consulate and must wait outside. You guys are going to do great! Don't stress!

My experience at the consulate was a pretty good one. Reading other people's experiences doesn't mean you're gonna go through the same thing. Every case is different and I wouldn't worry so much if I was you, you two look pretty legit to me. Just be honest about everything.

We hope our decision to get married so soon before actually meeting in person is not a red flag because it is the truth, but sometimes it seems that the truth isn't enough for this particular embassy and falling in love doesn't seem like enough evidence either. We can only pray and see what happens.

You're right, the positive stories most likely don't make it onto visa journey as often. Hopefully soon our story will be a success and can be added for all to see that not all of Morocco visa processes are denied. Thanks again for the boost of positivity. We really needed to hear it!
