Hello!

I am applying for a visa for my spouse in Ghana. we are at the stage of affidavit of support. I have currently been working for 3 months full time. This is my first full time position, so I don't have any other tax returns to prove that I have been working full time. I was in college before my full time job. My current income puts me well above the poverty line 125% for a family of 2. Can I still qualify as a sole supporter of my husband? Or would it be better if I have a co-sponsor? I do have my mom that can be a co-sponsor if need.

I am worried that I may not be able to be a sole sponsor because I haven't been full time very long and I also don't have assests. But I do make annually 35,000 a year, its just that I havn't been in the position long.

I would get a joint sponsor just in case they consider 2 months to be too short. Good luck! :)

My husband got promoted to where he was making well above the needed amount about two months before we applied for AOS. We submitted his employment letter (stating how much money he'll be making per year) as well as pay stubs reflecting the change. We got approved yesterday with no RFE and no joint sponsor.

Adjusting status from F-1 (student) following marriage to USC

Entered US for first time: December 2010

Met husband in class: August 2013

Started dating: February 2014

Engaged: 21 May 2015

Married (courthouse): 25 March 2016

Sent AOS packet to Chicago lockbox: 19 April 2016

NOA1 received: 24 April 2016

Biometrics appointment: 24 May 2016

Case ready to be scheduled for an interview: 2 June 2016

Infopass to request AP expedite: 30 June 2016 expedite approved

EAD/AP card in production: 1 July 2016

EAD/AP card received: 11 July 2016

Interview notice received: 17 September 2016

Interview date: 21 October 2016

APPROVED!

Green card received: 28 October 2016

Process took 192 days, no RFEs, from sending the packet to having green card in hand.
