How long does RFIE delay EAD?

Just wondering if anyone knows how long an RFIE for Affidavit info will delay my EAD?

From what I have read, it seems to reset the EAD processing period.

Our EAD time was not reset, it was a short delay.

It is briefly paused, every case is different, there is no one size fits all. The faster you respond to the RFE the quicker the process

resumes.

Well it was RFIE... so my 90 days starts over again? I saw lots of people get RFIE for the same thing...

What was the RFE for ? According to the tip sheet it says for initial evidence it starts over.

They don't follow their own rules half the time so who knows what they will do.

Let us know, am curious.

RFIE stating that we don't meet income requirements for a 4 person family, we actually meet for a 5 person family. We sent pay stubs to prove this as his W2 was short for last year as he got a promotion. They requested initial evidence. Sent 12 months bank statements, 12 months pay stubs, full W2, Letter from work confirming everything and a cover letter confirming everything and the situation. Yes he earns $33,400 (with out bonuses) $37,000 with.. but we are actually struggling and I really need to be working running up to Christmas. I really didn't need them to reset this. I have a possible job offer so I might try and expedite if they follow though...

We had the same RFE and had no reset ! They did not think I made enough but I answered the RFE with plenty of evidence

and they accepted it, it was complicated as they wanted a projected income and I am self employed.

Hope you send the official IRS tax transcript instead of a tax return as they get increasingly finicky with it.

Yes, expedite with a job offer. We did a successful renewal expedite for the EAD because AOS was pending 16 months

and the EAD was expiring.

I hope that's the case. My husband was considering taking a second job, but we agreed it's best he doesn't as it would interfere with his current job which could lose us money. I've had to tell my family in England I can't afford to send xmas presents as our kids birthdays and Christmas are all in 6 weeks of each other. We just can't afford it. The manager next door is waiting to hear from the regional manager as she recommended me to him. Hopefully he will get back to her and if he's ok with it she is going to write me a letter for expediting.

We had a RFIE for pay stubs and it didn't really delay. Our PD is August 2nd, we responded to an RFIE which was received by USCIS on September 22nd and I had my EAD approved on October 20th. So it was still under 90 days even with the RFIE. Hope this helps you!

It deoesn`t reset, it pauses it. If your RFIE is for your I-485 it doesn`t reset your EAD, it only does if your RFIE is for your EAD.

They put it on hold (even says so on the USCIS website), from the moment they issue your RFIE, till the moment they receive your response. So the faster you reply to it, the shorter the delay will be.

I read this many times and was hopeful myself, as many people stated that an RFIE would not reset my EAD. That is incorrect though. It did for me. I had to find a co-sponsor due to my income (which took some time). Once we were finally able to mail back our response, we thought we'd just pick up where we left off. It's even what our lawyer told us.

BUT, that wasn't correct. We called Immigrations several times and they notified us that our initial processing date is now invalid and our new date would be when they received our evidence. -___-

So it's 3 months after they receive your evidence.

I would hope not considering we replied 7 days after receiving the letter. Hopefully we will be lucky like others have. But will just have to wait and see.
