Issued Status (Dominican Republic)

I have been reading a lot of other peoples posts about what to expect timeline wise with my fiance's visa status. Everything so far has been VERY helpful and spot on. Today his status on CEAC changed to issued!!!

I am very excited and know this means he will be getting his visa soon. However, I have not found many people who can speak to how long it takes after the status being changed to issued to when you you can pick up your visa and actually have it in hand.

If anyone could share their experience I would greatly appreciate it!! This has been a VERY long process full on unknowns and I would love to have some kind of idea as to when he will finally be able to come to the US.

Yes he picked it up yesterday!

His appointment was on Oct. 3rd. We got put into administrative processing because we had to send a new police certificate after the interview. On Friday October 14th our status finally changed to ready. After that it went back to AP (a different status though) then the next day it changed to Issued. After that point you should keep track of the passport on the website where you make the appointments. On that website on Tuesday night it changed from passport at the consulate to "Document information" then it said processing for shipment or something along those lines. After that I would suggest doing the emailing the automatic response email with the passport number. That send more accurate information.

Overall if took 5 weekdays after my status changed to Ready (after AP) for his visa to be ready to be picked up. He waited till the next day though to go get it because of all the rain there the past few days.

Hope that helps!
