DV-2018

Hi All,

I would like to ask something regarding the DV application.

My best friend wants to apply for the DV-2018.

He splitted with his wife few month ago, she is living in different country now so they have not started the divorce.

He gave his last name to his wife’s daughter but her family is not allowing him to see the girl.

Is there any restriction for him to apply as single applicant? In case that he is selected, he is not single but how is going to explain that he is not divorced?

I hope someone could answer my question.

Cheers!

Lis

He should apply as whatever his current state is. If he wins ( not likely as it is a lottery with millions of entrants) he can process for only himself. NEVER lie to immigration it is ground to be disqualified

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

If he is not legally separated or divorced at the time of entry then he must apply as married. He must also list his stepdaughter. He will have to have photos of both of them for the entry. Seems the best course for him, with or without DV, is to get the divorce finalized ASAP. If he gets selected and cannot show a legal document ending of separating the marriage before entry, he will be denied.

Hi everyone

When I submitted my DV form I got a DV blank page, i.e. no confirmation number/acknowledgment. I didn't close the page, I waited for almost an hour but still didn't get a confirmation. So, I filled in the form again, submitted it, and then I got the confirmation page with my case number. Could that count as a duplicate submission?
