Request For Additional Information (Outside US) Problems

Hi there,

I am based in New Zealand, and the I-130 my wife (who is also based here) filed for me was met with a 'Request for additional information'. Supposedly a form was sent to us that contains information about what is requested, however we haven't received it by the date listed on the case status website.

Calling USCIS, they told us they cannot send this form to New Zealand (for no real reason other than the system won't let them). We were then told to contact our 'local' field office in Thailand, but so far I haven't been able to get through to them via phone or email.

Has anyone had any experience with the Request for Additional Evidence form outside of the US? Really not sure how to proceed from here if we can't get the form sent to us.

Cheers.

Mriggs, what address do they have for you on file? Have you received any communication from them via snail mail? Is it possible to have a friend or relative in the US serve as your "mailbox" and then have it scanned and emailed to you?

I'm sorry that you are going through this.

Thanks for the reply Sukie, they have sent us mail to our NZ address (The notice saying the I-130 was accepted), so not sure why they suddenly can't send mail to NZ.

Good idea getting it send to a friend in the US, that might have to be the next course of action.
