Hey folks

I am back again, how is everyone doing out here?

So here is what i am worried about!

I have my adjustment of status pending, after they received my Initial evidence, on 02/08/2016 i keep calling them, but they keep repeating same old storylines everytime i call, so in July i requested to know the reason my process taking too long, but there was no answer, then i called and requested tia 2 officer then after long conversation on the phone, she put in another request for me which they responded in august that, the reason my case is taking long is they have load of work, so my case hasent been abounding but, is still in a waiting list, so after a month i called again and afterwards i decided to apply for AP which the office advice me to do that so incase i want to travel, then i dont need to wait for my GC, which i did after was, but it has been almost 3 weeks i dont see no update about my AP which if i track it, it say they've received it for almost 3 weeks now

Folks whats going, does anyone have same issues or experience

Please advice, thanks

GC processing can take up to one year.

If you need to leave the country for an urgent reason you can make an infopass appt.

For Emergency AP you don't actually have to make an infopass you just go there if it's really urgent.

Yes i know i should have applied together with EAD but they told me it wasin't that necessary if i dont need it

But now is taking too long for my GC or process to be done

So then i need it, because i want to get some off from school and go to canada with my wife and kids,

I applied for my Adjustment of status on November 9 2015

All you can do is wait. It will take around 90 days. No point in calling because there's nothing they are going to do until you've gone more than 90 days from filing.

Unless you have a visit visa for Canada, you will be unable to visit until you have your GC. Your EAD/AP card will not function as a method to enter Canada.

Did you get your EAD already. If you did then AP is quick but 3 weeks is definitely too early to panic. I got my AP within a month of applying - I also applied separately but after my EAD was approved (i.e. I'd definitely cleared all the background checks etc by that moment). If you haven't gotten your EAD yet then they might come at the same time whenever your EAD gets processed.

AOS

04/29/2016 - priority date

05/31/2016 - biometrics appointment

08/04/2016 - EAD in hand

02/08/2017 - Interview - Case held for review - Later same day status update "Card is being produced"

02/16/2017 - GC in hand!

ROC

11/15/2018 - packet signed for

12/17/2018 - biometrics appt

02/01/2019 - I551 stamp (no NOA1 received)

12/17/2019 - approved

N400

12/27/2019 - filed online

1/22/2020 - biometrics

4/1/2021 - interview

4/30/2021 - oath

Hey Dude,Why you don't apply at the same time when you are Adjusting your Status? because its free as far as you are Adjusting your status. You don't need to pay a dime and you could have got a combo card(EAD&AP).No one is God and a time wasted is never gained that why when you had the opportunity,You got to use it.Now you are stranded because you made that mistake not applying for both with your AOS.My only advice for you is,If you don't have a travel document to go to Canada with your family, please just forget it because there is no way you gonna enter this country back when you leave. You might end up in Kotoka from Canada and if your family are citizens here, they will come back and you will end up in Kotoka from Canada. The only brotherly advice i can give you
