Both US citizen and spouse liveing abroad want to move to US

My husband to be, and me are liveing outside US. He's got a permanent resident status where we live.

We got two houses which we plan to sell when/if I can be a LPR in US.

Everywhere in the information I read that, you should not sell out your belongings before you get the visa.

But he can not be my sponsor unless he got his domicile in US.

I feel that it is a bit of catch 22 over the hole thing.

The value of the houses will meet the request in form I-864 with margin.

But how do we proceed? If I do not get the visa, he has no intention to move by himself.

We don't want to sell our houses if I do not get the visa because we rather have the houses

left in that case.

I wish there was a way to appraise the house and use as an asset for both of us in form I-864.

Sell the house and move to a cheap apartment. But if you for some reason don't get the visa you have to live with not having the house anymore.

Generally people get co-sponsors in cases like this. You may be able to use the equity in the second house to qualify, but it'd be simpler to get a co-sponsor. Can his family or friends help?

We plan to get married befor applying for visa, so I guess it will be CR-1.

You don't need to sell the houses necessarily; he can prove he will re-establish domicile at the same time you, the immigrant, move to the USA by looking for a place to live over here, signing on with staffing agencies, that sort of thing. As mentioned, the main thing is the financial support for the immigrant, the affadavit of support; you could sell one house, transfer the money into a US based bank account, and keep the other. You can find a US-based co-sponsor to stand guarantoor for you too.

While it is always good to be cautious, because you do not know if you get the visa/ how long it takes to get it, cases where the couple live abroad together for a time are almost always granted, especially from low fraud countries like yours, unless you have criminal convictions or a previous overstay.
