Hello all, I just wanted to ask if there are jobs I can do upon arrival with a k1 visa..I'm not getting the employment card soon until we're married. I really want to help my fiancee with the wedding finances.. Any advice is well appreciated

05/27/16 - Received Biometrics letter in mail - Day 17

05/31/16 - Was denied walk-in fingerprints with just 1 person left in line. Milwaukee office, boo! - Day 21

06/07/16 - Biometrics completed in Milwaukee, WI - Day 28

12/21/16 - Passed Citizenship test/Interview was successful! - Day 197

Technically with a K1, you can immediately apply for an EAD upon arrival. Most people do not take this route due to the added cost since it is separate from an AOS submission, and it would only be valid for the period of the K1 entry (90 days), and still takes 45-90 days to process, so it would be essentially worthless. Other than that, no you cannot work without an EAD.
