Hello,

I received my interview notice for my naturalization interview scheduled for Sept 21st in Fort Myers FL. I was under the impression that I would be going to the Tampa Office for my interview, since the Fort Myers office only provides biometric and infopass services. What is even more confusing is that the address listed in the letter was not the same as the address in the biometrics letter, but for a different location about a mile away. And the address/office I am supposed to go to is not even on the USCIS website...

Has this happened to anyone before? Being scheduled for an interview at a random location? Do they sometimes schedule interviews at a place where they would be having oath ceremonies?

Any insight would help!

Each USCIS field office only has jurisdiction over a set area. You can find which office has jurisdiction over your place of residence by first clicking your state then finding your city/county here: https://www.uscis.gov/about-us/find-uscis-office/field-offices

The exception may be if you are changing your name through the naturalisation process, which will require a judicial oath ceremony which may or may not take place at the field office.

I had my Naturalization interview in Tampa on August 13, 2016. I passed the interview and was approved. I am currently waiting on my oath letter and date. However, I am under the suspicion that my oath ceremony might be in Fort Myers, where I live, because the IO who interviewed me told me they were opening up a Field Office in Fort Myers in September. She also said many of the applicants being interviewed that dayin Tampa were also from Fort Myers. If you go to the USCIS website and look up Field Offices, you will see that Fort Myers is now listed as a Field Office along with processing timelines. Fort Myers used to only be an Application Support Center. So in regards to your question, I think they are now utilizing Fort Myers and flowing applicants through that office. Where is the location of your interview on the 21st?

There's an Application Support Center (for biometrics) on Camino Real Way (I just Googled it).

There's a USCIS Field Office (for interviews and infopass appointments) at 4220 Executive Circle (it's on the USCIS website... see link below).

These are two separate offices... what's the source of your confusion? Is the address on your interview letter different from the field office address? They may have opened a new office and not updated their website yet. Or they may be conducting interviews at a new annex location. Houston did this about a year ago before moving the whole office to the new location and updating the address on the website.
