Hello Visa Journey Community,

Does anyone have any idea what I should do if my parents are retired but are providing an Affidavit of Support for my fiance? They still get a monthly income from when they sold their businesses, but they aren't actually employed anywhere..

Thank you!

Do they have to do tax returns? If so, they fill out support order and submit tax returns to back income statements

If not taxable income, use assests of equity in home and savings

You simply provide documentation of the income on top of supplying their most recent tax transcript. Show the documents that prove how much they receive monthly from the sale of their business. If they receive any non-taxable retirement income, then show the documents that prove that amount. Supplying 6-12 month of bank statements with the deposited income amounts highlighted can be very useful.

Why would they have to use assets just because they have non-taxable income?
