My husband just received his green card today August 16th, 2016. He was approved on August 8th 2016, but on his Green Card it says: Resident since 08/08/2015 and will expire 08/08/2017. We married on November 25th 2015, he did not even enter the US till November 20th of 2015. This does not seem right to me, if it is not right then what do we need to do to correct this or what, now?

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum but we are not sure the dates are right for him.

Thanks for the help and answers.

USCIS made a mistake. It should be resident since Aug. 2016 and expire in 2018.

First, make a copy front and back to keep for your records. Then make an infopass appointment and tell them about the mistake, and needing to file an I-90 and send off the green card. Ask them to put a temp I-551 stamp in his passport to prove his permanent resident status for work and travel while waiting for the card to be corrected. File the I-90. There will be no fee because the mistake was made by the USCIS.

Thank you. We called and they are looking into what should be the correct date but we are going to file the I-90 form to get it corrected. The lady he spoke too seemed to see the fact he was not even here when they said he was a resident and had not even gotten his visa yet to come here that the date had to be wrong.

But thank you for the help!
