Did you have to take your vaccination records to the interview?

The DS-160 asked if my fiance had his vaccination records available, and we wrote "no", because he doesn't have a copy. He isn't sure how to obtain a copy in his country. Will he have to present vaccination records in the interview? Is the medical exam enough? Because the HEP B takes 5 months to complete and we don't want to wait that long.

His medical will be forwarded to the embassy (or you'll hand deliver it, depending where you are) and they'll have his vaccination form there so no need to bring it to the interview.

But it's advisable to ask the doctor he visits for his medical that a copy of his ds3025 (the vaccination report) is given. It will be needed later on for aos

The doctor that you see for the medical will base his knowledge of vaccinations off what your fiance brings him. If you fiance brings him nothing, then the doctor can't say that he has any vaccines.

My husband was missing a tetanus booster but had all his other records, luckily his doctor gave him the booster and marked him as good to go, since that's all he was missing.

It's recommended to bring your shot records to medical, as they will want to see it. They will then transcribe the shot records they are given onto the DS-3205 form, which you should make sure to get a copy of, but it is something that will be sent/given to the embassy at interview.

If no proof is given, then he'll be marked as needing vaccines. This will be important for AOS, as he'll need to get those vaccines once he's in the US if he doesn't do it in his home country.

If he has NO idea what shots he's ever received and has NO way of getting his shot records, he can also get a titer test done to show which antibodies he has in his system due to prior vaccines. A doctor can then make a shot record based off of what antibodies he does have in his system, and give any other vaccines if needed BEFORE the medical.

As a second note, vaccines are technically NOT required for K1, but they are required for AOS. So if your fiance doesn't get his vaccines in his home country, then he'll have to pay a civil surgeon to do them here in the US before ya'll apply for your AOS. Depending on how his insurance works over there, it may just be cheaper to get all his vaccines done over there, as you will pay out of pocket if you do them in the US.

He will get all the shots if he don't have his records from when he was younger.

It's also hard to get appointment, you have to go and make it when interview letter comes. He will need passport photos also

I think he can get the booster when here.

@

FarrahIdir

was right.
Just ask him to go and get vaccinated again that's all.
He can get a list of the required vaccinations, and just go get them from local hospitals.
These are some of them (if not all) (they are in French to be understood by locals)

- Anti Hepatite B
- DT Adulte
- La Minangite
- Polio "2 Goute".

Just make sure to have those before his Medical exam and his interview.

Good Luck.
Bon Courage.

I have another question and I don't know where to post it.

We received the fiance visa packet in the email, and it tells him to get a medical examination before he makes an appointment for the visa interview....

but the medical clinic in algeria said that he needs to make an interview appointment before he is allowed to make a doctor's appointment!!

Now we are confused, which is he supposed to do first? ??

He tried calling the embassy's number to ask, but it doesn't work.
