Affidavit of support payment and documents

People here:

We need some information now about the Affidavit of support payments and the requirements

We are living in Chile and my wife is going to be my sponsor (she's a USC).

Reading about the requirements of payments of the visa process and the affidavit of support, it says that you need to pay all the fees with a US Bank account, Is that true? Or we can pay with our Chilean banks? (She does not have an US bank account, since she lives here) If we can pay here, we pay to the Embassy?

Secondly, We are saving money to meet the financial requirements, but our case is a little bit different since she's been living here in Chile her entire life, so she does not have an US salary or accounts there. We want to move there after the process (if we can). How much money do we need in savings to meet the requirements? That money is mandatory or is analysed case to case?

That's all for now! Thank you guys

You can only pay the fees with US dollars, they do not go to the embassy but to an organ in the US. Unfortunately you will almost surely have to find a co-sponsor in order to get your visa approved. You will also have to work on proving that your wife is moving her domicile to the US. Lots of posts on how to do that, but that will be a major thing you will need to prove.

Can your wife send the funds necessary to pay the fees to a family member in the U.S., who could write the check for you?

Yes, we have some people there who can sign and pay!... For now we are more concerned about the requirements, we are trying to speak with someone who can be our joint sponsor, but we prefer to think that we do not have one.

The problem here us that (for my country) if you need 20.000 x 3 for the affidavit is too much money, since the salary here (even for us) is too low...

So, we are looking for alternatives, and what we can do. We haven't started the process yet, since we want to have all in order first....

I am pretty sure you can only use income that will still be coming in when you move so Chilean income doesn't count. The focus should probably just be to find a joint sponsor who qualifies.

That's we are looking for now. Since she still have some family there, but the relations are not completely good.... That's why we are trying to use that as a latch ditch effort.
