Hi! My fiance and I received our case number on July 18th and they told us that they have sent our case file here to US Embassy Bangkok on July 15th. I've been communicating with the embassy here asking if they have received our case file yet and they said they haven't. It's already August 1st. I heard NVC uses DHL to transport case files and it does normally take 3-5 days for them to deliver goods/items.

I've been reading posts here and I've seen how people from all over the world have received their case files and have scheduled interviews but not us.

Anybody experiencing the same thing? Or perhaps some idea about how long does it really take to send files from NVC to US Consulates around the world? I'm just worried because my old passport got lost in the mail.

Thank you for your time. God bless!

Oh boy. We just have to keep praying for this. Have you paid your visa fee yet? I already did the day after my fiance and I received the case number. I tried putting in the virtual account # and it wouldn't work for a week so I gave up. Then yesterday I thought of visiting again my GSS profile and it accepted the number. Now, I am guessing my case file should be at the embassy here already.

How about you?

I know, right? Even the further countries out there receive their case files in a day or two. I truly wonder what happens with the transfer from US coming here to BKK.

Did you notice that the embassy here has posted the schedule appointments for the month of August? Of course, our case number isn't there yet. :(

I really dont have high expectations for this k1 process in general. The way the government works is a joke. No one has any clue as to what they are doing and can give no answers to any questions. I might as well take the money and give it to a monkey. Atleast the monkey would run off and do something immediately.

I called nvc to see if there was a tracking number. No tracking number recorded on file.

I asked why it takes so long. They couldnt give me any information.

I mentioned ceac says nvc has assigned an interview date and asked what the date is. I was told nvc doesnt assign the date. So i asked why it states "national visa center has issued an appointment date?" They said it was an error.

I would really assume that a government processing very sensitive information would be smart enough to ship these documents to another country and have a tracking number with the carrier and atleast provide "correct" information?

We have tried calling NVC too and they just told us to wait for it. I really don't mind waiting so long as we are getting the information we need. If the case file is no longer with NVC and it hasn't arrived US Embassy Bangkok yet, then where could it be? I can't imagine it getting lost in the mail.

--

Yup, NVC doesn't assign interview dates. The US Embassy here does. They will only assign after we have returned the Packet 3 with that special paper telling them we are ready for interview. I got all my papers ready a couple of months ago and now I am worried that each one of them will start expiring. :-) Also another things I am worrying about is that, what if we get our Packet 3 next week and return it also that week, will they still accommodate us for interview this month? I sure hope so. The last date they have for interview date for this month is August 18th.

I am still praying for miracles here. God bless us!

My fiance is still gathering his documents, so technically we aren't ready yet to respond to Packet 3 even if the Embassy had received the case already. But he'll have everything ready next week, so I'm hopeful that the Embassy will receive our case and send out Packet 3 in the next few days. He has his birth certificate and his single certificate and needs to get those translated from Thai to English. He is to get his Police Clearance Certificate on Monday or Tuesday. The fact that the case isn't at the Embassy yet isn't really holding us up...it's just annoying that it is taking so long and of course that creates anxiety. I hate worrying that our case has been misdirected or perhaps lost. 10 days now waiting for it to arrive. But waiting appears to be the name of the game!

We have not paid the visa fee yet.

They are probably just way behind on incoming cases, they will probably catchup soon. Not sure on how many days out of the week but I don't think they work on k1 visas more than 2 or maybe 3 days a week...

I see. I have everything ready and I have just been waiting here. Yup, waiting and waiting and waiting. But it's good as it helps strengthen our faith and trust in God. In His timing, we shall receive our packets, interview dates, and visas.
