No Cenomar!

As I've been reading through interview experiences I see that they asked for the original Cenomar. I read through on NVC and the embassy for what to bring and nowhere did it say to bring CENOMAR. My husband has only the scanned copy of our Cenomar.

Will that be okay? Could they turn him away for the interview? Would it just delay him able to receive his spousal visa?

His interview is tomorrow morning Manila time.

Cenomar? He wont need that because you two are already married. Maybe he needs is certificate of marriage, not cenomar.

Certificate of No Marriage is CENOMAR (i believe this is needed for K1). yours is spousal visa. so your husband should be okay :) Lots of luck tomorrow! :dancing:

Only kind of true. My wife went through the same issue. CENOMAR before marriage, CEMAR after marriage. Guess the USEM wants to make sure that the marriage was actually legit and that's the piece of paper that says it was.

Too late to do anything about it now. Take what he has. If not enough or not the correct document he'll get a 221g which may delay the visa by a week or so. It's a common problem with CR1 visas. Another P200 or so and a trip to Pasay City. Just another bump in the road.

The requirement or a CENOMAR are in the Embassy Letter and it states:

CERTIFICATE OF NO MARRIAGE RECORD (if applicable). You must also submit a CENOMAR issued
by the PSA and printed on PSA security paper if you have never contracted a marriage or as deemed necessary by
a consular officer. You may call the PSA Information Center at (632) 737-1111 to inquire about obtaining a
CENOMAR or visit their website at http://www.census.gov.ph.

Like Brassballs stated, bring what you have and if the need something else they will issue a 221g and you will follow the instructions contained within the 221g.

This will slow you down 2-3 weeks.

Hi guys, these info might be too late for the OP (interviewed july 25) but just for clarrification, the NSO (PSA) Marriage certificate and Certificate of Marriage a.k.a CEMAR are different.

Marriage Cert. - it shows who you are married too (such as when, where, who), more detailed compared to CEMAR.

Certificate of Marriage - will show the previous and recent marriage/s that you have/had. It will tell you how many times you were married and WHO you are married too.

I was also having a hard time understanding these 2 documents as my Visa Interview is fast approaching and saw that USEM visa checklist requires this (mostly for K1). These visa process makes me over think, I thought maybe the CO might ask for proff that I wasnt married before I marry my husband. So I went to NSO to try to get this CENOMAR (cert. of no marriage), so what I got is a CEMAR instead of CENOMAR.

Hope this helps.
