NVC status update, confusion

I called NVC and asked why it said that, since the embassy is the one that provides interview dates for K1 visas. The guy said he he had no idea, and it causes a lot of confusion.

It seems to me that everyone is getting this message on their "in transit" on NVC. I called NVC and was told that all interviews are scheduled by Each individual embassy. And, the interpretation of that message is that NVC provided and approved your fiance an interview date that will be determined by the embassy. This is what I understood.

I had the same exact thing with my case. I called the Embassy and they told me my packet was sitting in the office waiting for me to call and set up an interview

They probably just give the same boilerplate type of message as they do with immigrant visas. The NVC does their scheduling, but not for a K-1. A K-1 is a non-immigrant visa, but it has immigrant intent and is handled by the immigrant visa units of the consulates.

Just get the case# from the NVC and follow your consulate's instructions for scheduling an interview.

NO, the embassy will not give you an interview date!!

This is country specific so you should have asked in the Scandinavian forum for the right answer.

In Sweden you book your own interview.

Right now your case is in transit for Sweden when they have it, to will go to "Ready" not long after (1-5 days) you or your fiancé will get an e-mail with instructions on what to do next.

The "NVC will book an interview as it says under the in transit you should just look past that is not for K-1's)

Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the US Consular Section. IF you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of you interview appointment.

Still I haven't gotten any emails fron NVC or Embassy.

Anyhow, I don't want to schedule my fiance's interview yet, since we are still missing one requirement, which is the NBI CLearance from the Philippines. Plus she can't go to the Philippine Embassy or Consulate in Stockholm since they are close for the rest of July due to holiday.

Someone told me that, a Police clearance from the Philippines is enough and just get it authenticated in the Philippine Consulate in Stockholm and she can take it to her interview instead of the NBI clearance. Any input regarding this will be much appreciated.
