Up to 90 days for NVC case number?

It's been 5 weeks since our case was approved but still waiting on getting the case number from NVC. I called NVC today and a very nice agent told me that "they should have gotten it by now", and to call USCIS to inquire about it. She even said that many cases are getting in from USCIS in a matter of days after approval.

So I called USCIS and explained the agent the situation and what NVC has told me and the response was that it might take up to 90 days for NVC to receive the case and I must wait that time before this could be researched. ? I believe this is bologna, must people only wait 6 weeks to call USCIS and ask for a tier-2 agent, or schedule a local InfoPASS appointment or contact their Congressional representatives. I'm also aware the petition itself expires in 4 months, so I can't see why it might take up to 90 days for NVC to receive it.

I'm wondering if anyone else has receive this kind of non-sense response. I even called twice and the 2 different agents told me the same script.

I personally will wait another additional week, or 6 total, before I start calling the higher ups and start making some noise, that's simply ridiculous.

As long as you correspond with NVC the case will stay open past the year they have it

mine was over 18 months in USCIS and over a year in NVC

Write emails to NVCinquiry@state.gov as soon as you get the case number to keep it open

be sure to include case number

both names

and both DOB's

also the country you apply for

Wow, I feel sorry for your situation. Did you try contacting your congressman? Wonder which route's more effective and provides a quicker result...

Same here got the same answer was told 90 days that it doesn't show it was sent yet. Complained and said that it on approval notice it says it was sent so why should I wait 90 days and people with later approval dates have already been sent to NVC and on their way to embassy now. Asked to speak to tier 2 never got a call back and was even refusing to transfer me said to call back and request a tier 2 after 90 days.

My approval date was June 8th. :(

and please allow us 45 days from the approval date to be sent...

Hello guys.

i received this e-mail few minutes ago from the uscis. :D
Regrettably, your case does not meet USCIS guidelines for expedited processing at this time. This is due to a temporary hold having been placed until all required security checks are resolved. Such measures are mandatory for all petitions, irrespective of the benefit sought.

Please note that USCIS recognizes the difficulties caused by such processing delays, as well as the unpleasant circumstances under which the beneficiary now resides.

However, very effort will be made to render a final decision in your case just as soon as all checks are concluded.

In the meantime, your continued patience is very much appreciated.

keep calling the NVC until you get your case number. USCIS is known as the misinformation line, they tell everyone the same in when in reality the wait is not really 90 days. They are giving the worst case senario

I don't know but it sounds to me like a generic, canned response from USCIS. Pretty much they are saying keep on waiting. Is this the response you got from an INFOPASS inquiry or was this through another means?
