Hi, i ve been in the US since august 2015 and i still havent received the green card.

I called uscis several times, and the people working there are probably some of the worst (from hunging up phone to all kind of lies) - they gave me no real information and no updates on the production of my green card.

Here i am 11 months later and still havent received it, asking if theres anyone in my situation or if you were - how did you solve the situation.

Did you pay the $165 Green Card production fee?

I'd go to an Infopass to get this fixed.

It's prudent to do that before involving your Senator/Representative, you can show you've done everything you could.

But honestly, I think some people just not insistent enough. Politely INSIST that someone actually looks into your case at the Infopass.

Worse case scenario if they can't do anything about the GC, you should at least ask for an I-551 stamp in your passport so you have proof of your status. Your endorsed immigrant visa as proof of status expires this coming August.

My sister-in law just got hers a couple of months ago and she's been here for almost two years....

I hate to say it, but I believe you just have to be patient and wait for it to arrive. I believe you can still work legally while it's in process..

Proof of status is still needed. An I-551 stamp can be put in the foreign passport during Infopass.

It shouldn't take 1 year for you to receive it though. My family members immigrated to the US a couple of months ago and it took about 1-2 months for them to receive their GC. I think you should schedule an infoPass to make sure that the GC fee was received and there aren't any issues.

If they are unhelpful at the infoPass, you can contact your state's senator/congressman to find out what the matter is.

I agree with Teeak. It doesn't hurt to double-check to make sure all payments were received.

However, I also believe it depends on how busy they are because as I mentioned, my sister-in law never even checked up on hers, it just showed up 2 years later.

I guess she was never too concerned about it because she started working almost immediately after she set foot into the states.

Double check they have the payments from ELIS. They have changed the system since you arrived. If you have indeed paid (the money came out of an account) bring proof of that to your infopass. Have you logged into your ELIS account at all since you made it to pay? Or have you checked you IOE number on the case tracker?

I do highly suggest an infopass to a) make sure they have your correct address and b) make sure the payment was registered in their system and c) get an I-551 stamp so you have proof of your lpr status. It's possible your address was wrong, the card was sent back and you were never notified.

If the infopass doesn't bring to light anything, you need to involve your representatives and even ombudsman to get on it. 11 months is far too long.

The stamp in her passport acts as a temporary green card for a year, so she got lucky that second year that she wasn't checked at work, pulled over by the cops etc, because she had no proof of status for that second year.

OP, do infopass. It's your responsibility to follow up. Once your one year is up, you have no proof of your legal status. You need your green card or a new stamp in your passport.

not becasue they are too busy as Adil arrived September 5th 2015 and received his October 5th 2015 (within the 2 years of Aidee's sister in law)

so, something is going on besides being too busy

even 2 months is too long to wait on this

get that info pass and check this out

get the name of the person at the meeting and if they can't help include the name with a complaint

if you take in all your own paperwork, you are giving them assess to your case with proof needed / some go in with just verbal information and the officer really is not allowed to do much

take the proof

make a nusisance of yourself with emails, letters and phone calls / make things happen / be careful not to loose your temper and keep the language proper but this is your life, don't let them bowl you over

OP, Did you ever get this resolved?  I am in the same situation - the whole process was smooth sailing, my husband's POE was July 2016 (fee paid Feb 2016), and it is now May 2017 and no plastic green card.  We have called repeatedly (the last time escalating it) and had TWO infopass appointments.  At the last one, she put a stamp in his passport extending the visa by 9 months.  I am convinced they've lost our file, and I'm not sure what action to take next.
