Hi everyone,

I spent few days reading this forum but couldn't find this info.

I'm applying for AOS these days - along with I-131 for advance parole.

There are 2 options - single use or multiple use. There are so many people here who used their paroles but nobody mentioned if they applied for single or multiple one? Is it gonna be suspicious if I apply for multiple one and gonna leave the country 2 times for different important occasions?

Since it's gonna be up to a year till the actual interview and I haven't seen my parents for 5 years I really wanna visit them asap. But in addition to that my best friend gonna get married in Canada at the end of the year so it's something I definitely can't miss.

Is it possible to use AP twice or more? Anyone tried that?

AP is valid for one year and can be used multiple times with no problems. When I had AP I used it 10 times to re enter the USA from Canada.. You can go to any country, AP is used strictly to re enter the USA. Edited by blest.but.strest

Question for you all. I am about to file the i-485, my i-130 was approved under my spouse (U.S Citizen). I would like to apply for advance parole at the same time but when reading the instructions on the form, it says i need to state an emergency reason as to why i am applying for the document. Do i really need to be in an emergency situation to apply for advance parole? Per the form instructions:

If you are in the United States and seek an Advance Parole Document, you may apply if:
(1)
You have a pending application to adjust status, Form I-485, and you seek to travel abroad temporarily
for “urgent humanitarian reasons” or in furtherance of a “significant public benefit,” which may include a
personal or family emergency or bona fide business reasons.

AOS Filing:

July 26, 2016 - AOS mailed to Chicago Lock-box.

July 29, 2016 - Packet delivered.

August 1, 2016 - Filling date.

August 31, 2016 - NOA 1.

Sept. 2nd, 2016 - Check cashed.

Sept, 19, 2016 - Biometrics appointment.

June 14, 2017 - AOS interview.

No, you do not need any reason. You are not asked for any reason.
