IF you get approved on the spot, it usually doesn't take longer than 2 weeks, but that is still cutting it close, especially with the 4th of July weekend in there (major holidays often lead to slow downs).

That's often why we tell people not to make concrete plans until they have the visa in hand. I hope you are approved and your visa gets to you quickly so your date can be kept!

Number one rule of immigration.

NEVER make plans that can't be changed until the visa is physically in your hand.

With the dates you provided you are cutting it reeeeeaaaaaal close.

We had our interview Nov 24 and the her visa wasn't in hand until Dec 10.

ya I kind of figured that. i was previously married, and he dragged out the divorce/custody so we figured before all of that we would be safe with July.. but my ex was his typical self and really pushed...my lawyer was finally able to start with immigration mid Feb. i have my fingers crossed, and the general consensus is roughly a week <figured out how to navigate this site> and thats IF everything goes well. i understand things happen so I am more than prepared to change our date. it sucks, but thats life haha! thanks so much for your responses ^_^/

Great news, if there's no issues with processing you should have it within a week hopefully.

I had my interview on a Monday in April and picked up my Passport with I-551 packet in Vancouver that Friday. However my visa was family based not finance/marriage based.

Hollywood North

Former: TN1, H1B, O1 worker

Currently: FB-1: I-551 approved in MTL 04/04/16. Issued 04/06/16.
