Can I visit after cancelling my visa and moving somewhere else?

Hi guys. I did a K-1 back in 2010 - the memories! It was successful and we made the move to the states. Logan story short, after 11 weeks we decided to move to New Zealand! I had filed all my papers for the next step after getting married (I forget the name of all the forms and visas, sorry) but right after posting them we changed our minds and cancelled the check for the fee. The application had only been received and not acted on at the stage of cancelling the check, and I got a few emails saying my application was going to be cancelled unless I sent in another check. I think I sent an email saying I wasn't going through with the process and we stopped getting letter from USCIS. But now 6 years later we want to visit my aunt in New Jersey and I'm worried that I won't be allowed into the country and past immigration. The truth is it just didn't work out. Can I just book my flights and hope for the best? I will have proof of an ongoing flight to Ireland about a week later. Any help is so much appreciated! Thanks. Aoife

October 8th- Sent off K-1 visa package

October 21st- Received email saying we have been assigned to CSC

October 28th- Waiting on NOA1

October 29th- NOA1 received!!!

March 16th 2011- Received email saying petition for fiance has been approved and that NOA2 is in the mail!

April 12th 2011- Waiting on lettter with interview date from Dublin Embassy. Medical scheduled for 26th April

You'll need VWP (assuming you're eligible), other than that you'll probably be fine :-)

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.

11/2/15: NOA2

Delayed processing due to work

3/15/16: Medical

4/28/16: Interview (approved)

Delayed entry due to work

8/12/16: POE Detroit

 

9/4/16: Wedding!

 

AOS process:

9/9/16: I485/I131/I765 sent

9/14/16: Received 3xNOAs by text/e-mail (day 2)

9/14-18/16: Received 3xpaper NOAs 

9/23/16: Received biometrics appointment letter (day 11)

10/3/16: Biometrics appointment (day 19)

11/4/16: EAD+AP approved (day 53)

11/16/16: EAD status changed to card shipped (day 65)

11/17/16: EAD/AP combo card received (day 66)

12/30/16: Notice of interview scheduled (day 109)

2/1/17: AOS interview (day 142) - APPROVED

2/8/17: GC received (day 150)

 

ROC process:

11/3/2018: ROC window opens

shouldn't be a problem, but I would fill in the online ESTA forum before booking flights, just in case.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

So the ESTA form says I am eligible to travel. Is that all I need? I don't need to fill out a form or anything for the VWP? I just turn up to immigration and go through?

ESTA us what you fill out for VWP. Did you register, fill out the form and pay the fee? Did you get your approval?

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.

That's it. Remember that your ESTA is linked with your passport - and will expire after two years or when you renew your passport (whatever happens first).

Having an ESTA (like having a visa) does not guarantee entry to the US, it's the border officer who determines that.
