Hello,

I'm putting together more evidence of ongoing relationship after the initial K1 process.

I came across some of my text from my fiancé, referring her as my wifey or my wife. We didn't get married when we were together, but I've read some thread that the interviewer denied the beneficiary because they saw on text that they call each other wife or husband even if they aren't married or have seen photos of the couple together that looks like a celebration or attending a wedding.

Anyway, my question is, should I not include that in the evidence? In the initial application, there was a text message exchange, I'm calling my fiancé is my wifey/wife and added I can't wait to marry you.

Or I am thinking too much into this?

I'm sure you can find examples of communication that does not use such 'red flag words". The consulate in Sweden is not so strict, but why risk it?

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.

That's true. You're right. I have taken the chat logs out that mentions about wifey and all but kept the ones where we talked about planning our wedding

Thank you for your quick response, greatly appreciate it

Hello,

I'm putting together more evidence of ongoing relationship after the initial K1 process.

I came across some of my text from my fiancé, referring her as my wifey or my wife.

That's bad. Don't include any of it.

We didn't get married when we were together, but I've read some thread that the interviewer denied the beneficiary because they saw on text that they call each other wife or husband even if they aren't married

Yep it has happened.

or have seen photos of the couple together that looks like a celebration or attending a wedding.

Happens a lot.

Anyway, my question is, should I not include that in the evidence? In the initial application, there was a text message exchange, I'm calling my fiancé is my wifey/wife and added I can't wait to marry you.

Do not include any of this.

Or I am thinking too much into this?

No, it's a problem.

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

You may not have to include chats at all. Do you have a lot of visits/ a lot of time together? Sweden is a pretty low risk country and unless you met and conducted most of your relationship online, the chats really won't show much. I think that people who are going for spousal visas and have lived apart for several years need to show them, but that's because they need to demonstrate a bona vide marriage as part of the visa process. You have to prove that you're legit, obviously, but not to the same degree.

Marriage/ AOS Timeline:

23 Dec 2015: Legal marriage

23 Jan 2016: Wedding!

23 Jan 2016: "Blizzard of the Century", wedding canceled/rescheduled (thank goodness we were legally married first or we'd have had a big problem!) :sleepy:

24 Jan 2016: Small "civil ceremony" with friends and family who were snowed in with us. December was a bit of a secret and people had traveled internationally and knew we *had* to get married that weekend, and our December legal marriage was nothing but signing a piece of paper at our priest's kitchen table, without any sort of vows etc so this was actually a very special (if not legally significant) day. (L)

16 Apr 2016: Filed for AOS and EAD/AP (We delayed a bit-- no big rush, enjoying the USCIS break)

23 Apr 2016: Wedding! Finally! :luv:

27 Apr 2016: Electronic NOA1 for all 3 :dancing:
29 Apr 2016: NOA1 Hardcopy for all 3
29 Jul 2016: Online service request for late EAD (Day 104)
29 Jul 2016: EAD/AP Approved ~3 hours after online service request
04 Aug 2016: RFE for Green Card (requested medicals/ vaccination record. They already have it). :ranting:
05 Aug 2016: EAD/AP Combo Card arrived! (Day 111)
08 Aug 2016: Congressional constituent request to get guidance on the RFE. Hoping they see they have the form and approve!

K-1 Visa Timeline:

PLEASE NOTE. This timeline was during the period of time when TSC was working on I-129fs and had a huge backlog. The average processing time was 210+ days. This is in no way predictive of your own timeline if you filed during or after April 2015, unless CSC develops a backlog. A backlog is anything above the 5-month goal time listed on USCIS's site

14 Feb 2015: Mailed I-129f to Dallas Lockbox. (L) (Most expensive Valentine's card I've ever sent!)

17 Feb 2015: NOA1 "Received Date"
19 Feb 2015: NOA1 Notice Date
08 Aug 2015: NOA2 email! :luv: (173 days from NOA1)

17 Aug 2015: Sent to NVC

?? Aug 2015: Arrived at NVC

25 Aug 2015: NVC Case # Assigned

31 Aug 2015: Left NVC for Consulate in San Jose

09 Sep 2015: Consulate received :dancing: (32 days from NOA2)

11 Sep 2015: Packet 3 emailed from embassy to me, the petitioner (34 days from NOA2).

18 Sep 2015: Medicals complete

21 Sep 2015: Packet 3 complete, my boss puts a temporary moratorium on all time off due to work emergency :clock:

02 Oct 2015: Work emergency clears up, interview scheduled (soonest available was 5 business days away--Columbus Day was in there)

13 Oct 2015: Interview

13 Oct 2015: VISA APPROVED  (236 days from NOA1)

19 Oct 2015: Visa-in-hand

24 Oct 2015: POE !

15 Dec 2015: Fiance's mother's B-2 visa interview: APPROVED! So happy she will be at the wedding!

Oh, I know they ask for evidence everywhere. Just unlike some tough places (or in some relationship circumstances), printing out chat logs is probably a bit much. Never hurts to bring it just in case, of course. If they've had a lot of facetime and can prove it and/or a lot of visits, generally just answering the question "how do you keep in touch and how frequently" with "WhatsApp and Skype, throughout the day/daily" or whatever you use/how frequently is likely enough. That's how it went for us, easy peasy no problem, and how it goes for lots of people. Proof of visits and facetime (tickets, photos) etc. pretty much answer the question of "is this a real relationship".

Now, under certain circumstances, when people met online, developed a relationship online, even become engaged online, only meeting once for a short period of time to fulfill the requirements of the visa? Yes. They will need chat logs, and a lot of them.

OP can do whatever he likes/ feels comfortable with/ makes sense for his circumstance. But the chat log level of scrutiny is probably not much of a concern for him, especially being a K1 from a VWP country.

How many months have you been in contact?

We had been together about 2 year when we sent in our application. We sent logs from here and there, not once a month. Just basically "highlights" of our conversations.

Printing out chat logs is definitely not too much. If you mainly communicate through hangouts, whats app whatever that is what you send in. You send in what you have. We have both lived together and been apart, we sent in chatlogs, photos etc.

For the i-129f we sent two screenshots from every month we've been chatting/calling on skype since we met online about 8 months earlier. And now I'll take new screenshots from between NOA1 and up until the interview date. I wouldn't risk going to the interview without it when it's so easy to print and bring.

And for the OP; we have done the same at times, where my fiancé has called me wifey and stuff like that. We won't be taking any screenshots of that to the interview. :D

Good luck at the interview btw. :)

Hi there - on this topic, what is an appropriate amount of chat (WhatsApp for us)? We filed in Jan and interview is next week. If my fiance prints a handful for each month, will that be ok? I also visited in April and we have all evidence for that.

I had little excerpts of conversations from the time we filed to the time of the interview printed and on hand the day of the interview but the officer at RDJ didn't want to see anything (I asked). I'd bring something just in case, but wouldn't worry much. Good luck!

Yes, don't wanna risk it. Better safe than sorry.

I just didn't want them to give her a hard time during the interview.
