Lost Green Card, I-90, and I-551 stamp

I am a conditional resident, with 2-year Green Card. I lost my card in March and soon after filed I-90 application to replace my card. There is a checkbox for "lost or stolen" as a cause. On March 23, uscis received my application and $450 fee. Two months later, I passed biometrics appointment.

On infopass, they said it can take up to 10 months (!!!) to verify my identity and print a new card. They put a stamp in my passport, saying

"Upon endorsement serves as temporary I-551 evidencing permanent residency for one year".

Also stated

"Employment authorized.

Valid intil Feb 4, 2017".

I have a question, should this stamp be valid for traveling abroad also? If yes, how can I prove it to the airport check-in employees abroad?

you have the stamp in the passport, as it says, it serves as proof that you are a permanent resident

But airport workers may not know that it works as a green card. They can say: visa, american passport, green card, advance parole, or return permit. And I'm showing them this stamp... What can I show them to prove my right to enter the U.S.?

Is there any official list of acceptable documents for traveling to USA, where this stamp is listed? I haven't found it so far.

This is how it looks like:

hi

they do know about the stamp, that is the only proof you need

you are legally allowed to live, work and travel with that stamp until you get your GC

They might not. I would feel safe if I knew that there is a law or an instruction to show them in case they refuse to let me to the plane for the return flight. This stamp by itself, without actual (expired) green card is something they encounter only once in a while, not even every year. So I worry how to prove them.

hi

the stamp itself is telling them that you are a legal permanent resident, hundreds of people travel like that

do you have a letter from immigration, the noa1 that they received your i90 form?

Yes, I have NOA and even biometrics appointment letter with the stamp. But the NOA is very basic, it only states that they received my i-90 application, and no one word about my current status. I also have my lost GC copy if it helps.

This stamp is not easily readable. Check-in workers sometimes don't even know English. I just need to know if there is an official information about this stamp, specifically, that it allows to re-enter USA.

Do you personally know at least one person who traveled like that?

I don't know anyone personally

but many travel with the stamp, many that have just entered the country and awaiting their GC, go back to their country only with the stamp to return to US

Your stamp is as valid as the actual " green card" as long as there's no alteration to question the validity of the stamp. Do not worry about the country of departure, it's the country of ENTRY should be the main concern, and WILL be able to prove your status.

Stop stressing my dear, you'll be fine!

About its validity, I uploaded a picture of this stamp. What do you think, looks credible?

In opposite, I am completely relaxed about the country of entry because immigration officers do likely know their laws (I hope so) ? But the country of departure may have no idea what I am showing them instead of visa, GC, return permit, advance parole, or passport. And if they decide not to risk it, that's it, no flight at all.

Those many who are awaiting their first GC, have Advance Parole. This is not the same as just stamp. By the way, this stamp is for people who are already granted residency, not who just entered the country, unless they won the GC lottery.

Thank you for the link, but I still cannot find information... Is it somewhere here - https://www.cbp.gov/travel/us-citizens ? I searched the site, but nowhere the stamp is mentioned.

Could you please give a direct link if you found something please?
