Applying for CPT after having applied for AOS?

Hi all,

I am an F-1 student with valid status and I recently applied for marriage-based AOS with EAD (I-130, I-485 and I-765).

I am a PhD candidate and my advisor has given me permission to go work for a company while I write my thesis; I would like to start around mid-July.

Given that my EAD will take about 90 days (should arrive by the end of August 2016), my future employer has suggested that I request CPT until I receive it.

I am aware that I could request to expedite my EAD (and I might do it), but applying for CPT would be quick and painless.

So the question is: am I still eligible to request CPT now that I have filed for AOS?

Thanks!
