Can the IR-1/CR-1 Process be done while living in DR?

Hey everyone I've been staying in the dominican republic with my wife for about 5 months now and I was told that I can do the immigration process from here with would be excellent because I really don't want to go back to the US just yet has anyone ever done it this way? Does it take as long as doing the process in the US? Thanks for your time and answers.

You can mail it in from anywhere in the qorld. You will mail to the Chicago lockbox.

It's regular process since you aren't a permanent residence or living there

Expect a 10 to 12 month process as usual.

If you do list your DR address instead of a US they might I say MIGHT auto expedite but it's not a guarantee.

While there is a USCIS field office in Santo Domingo, you would have to be living in the Dominican Republic for at least 6 months on a long-term stay visa or residence permit before you would be able to file a petition there. Tourist visa extensions do not count.

As stated before, if you are a legal DR resident for at least 6 months, you can file your petition directly at the US Embassy in Santo Domingo. He is living there with his wife so yes he can file at the embassy I heard it can take as little as a few months maybe more maybe less depends on his case but you must do the I-130 petion first which can be done at the embassy

I called the embassy in santo Domingo and they said I needed a visitor visa and I had to be living in DR for 6 months witch I have exactly 6 months now but when I told him I didn't have the visitor visa he said I needed to get one and start the clock over there's the problem for me but that's the info they gave me (If u have a cedula you could do it from DR also I myself don't have one?).
