Hi all,

Very excited to receive an email today indicating that our I-129F package was received and the 1st NOA is in the mail on it's way to us.

Figured this was a good time to create an account and timeline, since I have been doing a lot of reading here over the last several months.

I really did not want to be apart from him, I had stayed with him for about 8 months in the US on a visitor visa... yes I realize I overstayed. We were going to get married down there earlier this year and file an I-130, but when he went to obtain a copy of his divorce decree from his first marriage, he found out that his ex wife lied to him about their divorce being finalized, and even went as far as foraging a divorce document several years ago when she left him!

So after contemplating what to do I finally made the decision to come back to Canada until things get figured out. I needed car insurance and had other business to take care of in Canada and it was just too risky for me to stay.

This caused a lot of stress for us obviously. Not only did I have to deal with the stress of immigration, but now we had a divorce to finalize. It took a few months but their divorce FINALLY got finalized last Friday and our K1 paperwork was in the mail on Monday lol. I had prepared it all before I came back up to Canada.

Checking the timelines, an average of 203 days to get the interview? Would certainly be the best Christmas present this year, to get an interview date and be able to join him again as we enter the new year. I'm guessing realistically we are looking at late January. But the moment that Visa is in my hand, I pack up my car and drive back to him.

I currently live with my grandmother and it is a less than idea situation. My (Canadian) parents recently became US citizens and I want nothing more than just to go back home to Nashville and join everybody again.

Anyways that's my story in a nutshell. It's great to be part of the VJ community.

Cheers,

FG
