Hey guys,

Couple questions. My interview is in Montreal, wondering how long will it take after (hopefully) approval that I will get my passport back ? Do I have to stay in montreal until then ? Or will they mail it to me ? Wondering for travel plans it is very hard to plan for this.

Also, how many days before the interview would you book the medicals for ? I was thinking of booking my medicals 3-4 days before the interview (in toronto), then driving to montreal after I got them back. Is this cutting it too short? Thanks !!

You need to sign up for Canada Post to mail back your passport. It can take anywhere from a day or two to a month or more so dont stay in Montreal. Check with the doctors you plan on going to to see how long it takes them to send you the medical.

Dont plan travel across the border until you have your visa.

Sign up here, but wait until your CEAC says ready. That means your case is at the consulate. https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-ca/iv

You need to register the date with the consulate and Canada post so they can return your passport and package for entry.

Ceac is where you filled the visa application.

https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/ you can check the status online

It will say ready when its ready instead of at NVC.

It takes up to a week for them to send your case to Montreal.

As long as you sign up before your medical you are fine. Check with the doctors first imho.
