Waiting for NOA2 for 5 Months

I sent our K-1 application at the end of December 2015. We received our 1st NOA a week later, January 4th, 2016. NOTHING since then. It's been so disheartening when I see other K-1 applicants who filed after us and go to the same California Service Center and Morocco Consulate that have already gone to the interview process. It's so confusing because the processing times on the USCIS website now show that California is working on 12/16/15 applications for K-1, but I have seen quite a few members on here who filed around or after us that have gone through the whole process already. Why the discrepancy? Shouldn't they all be processed by order of date? If so, why is ours getting overlooked and they work on others after ours? Any ideas or thoughts?

Very nervously,

Samira and Ayoub

My application took about 3 months for the NoA2 from the Cali service center, if you received your NoA1 you should have your WAC receipt number as a reference when you call to inquire about the status. They're usually pretty helpful and answer calls or emails pretty quickly.

If it's been 5 months you can call and ask what's going on with your case. But it has to be exactly 5 months, or they'll tell you that you're still in processing range.

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

Well I thought I'd update this forum. I had to wait until the 5 months mark and then I called (5 months was july 6). They told me to wait a until the end of the month because the processing center was behind and is catching up. I called at the end of July and a week later I got the NOA2.

Next hurdle was the NVC. It said to wait for 2-4 weeks. 4 weeks would be August 8th (today). I got the notice on August 6th that they were sending the file to Casablanca (dated 8/2).

It seems like they are pushing the limit of every deadline with our file.. no problems with it but slow going. I'm hoping it'll go faster when it gets to Casa.
