IR1, submitting joint sponsor document @ Cairo Embassy

Good day every one, I have couple questions regarding submitting additional documents at the cairo embassy.

As I had my interview on May, I was asked to represent my petitioner tax return for 2015, she is making enough income to support the household, but as the tax return was for only few months since she moved back to the US, I was told it wasn't enough and didn't meet the minimum requirement!, anyway, I was asked to submit a joint sponsor document via Aramex to the embassy.

my questions here regarding the issue are:

Can the I-864 form for the joint sponsor be submitted directly to the embassy from the states? or does it have to be thru me from here?

Does it have to be thru Aramex? as Fedex is a much easier option.

Has anyone faced the same situation? If I was told that everything looked fine just need a joint sponsor. any estimate on how long should it take after the submitting of the document?

Any help is appreciated, Many thinks in advance

Interview went fine, except this additional document required,. actually the affidavit of support is mentioned in the P4, but it's sent along with the rest of ur file from the nvc to the embassy, at the time of preparing the case, it was accepted, but as the interview actually occur in the next year, the CO asks for the last year tax return, which was not sufficient in her opinion and needed a joint sponsor,. the final saying on the case i guess is up to the CO at the embassy,. and BTW it is mentioned in the embassy PDF instructions, along with the Aramex papers, u would need to show the most recent supporting document.

Best of luck to you too

Now if some one would answer my questions :)

Or does this topic need to move somewhere else in the forum?

Any additional documents needed after interview will have to go thru aramex. She must have given you a form at the end of the interview with the missing item checked. You need to submit that along with the taxes as well with your case number written clearly. Again, I'm not sure if it can done via FedEx from the U.S. But if you check their website it clearly states Aramex. I would stick with that.

thanks for your response,. yeah, in their website it clearly stated Aramex from inside of Egypt, and Fedex from abroad,.which what we decided to do,. as to us it seemed like a waste of time,.. clearly the joint sponsor has to have a permanent residency in the states, so instead of wasting time mailing the needed documents to Egypt then re-mailing it again thru Aramex to the embassy, we just mailed it directly to the embassy from there, along with that form you've mentioned with the needed document checked on,.. well,. a scanned copy of it.

wish us luck as it was sent couple of hours ago.

Have you faced the same situation? or do you know of some one who did? if so how long does it take after they receive this additional documents? thx

You can email the embassy and ask for an update on the additional docs. They aren't too speedy with checking additional items sent. I would expect some weeks. (but maybe they do it faster for you)

The ceac will also update when the additional docs are reviewed and added to your case file. You can just check your status there for the latest update.

You have tracking for the fedex yes? So at least you can verify it arrived?

We were asked to send the same thing multiple times (even with proof that it was received). Make sure you keep copies and document everything.
