No RFE for the I-693, I-485 Interview scheduled

A little Background info; My wife arrived in the U.S. on a K1 visa. We recently applied for AOS, and did not supply the I-693 (I did submit the DS-3025). Her medical was over a year old to my knowledge (Med from the K1 done Jan 2015, applied for AOS April 2016)... and that's what i'm worried about. I was expecting an RFE for the medical but didn't receive one. We received an NOA "Request for applicant to appear for initial Interview". Just a few Questions,

1. Does "Initial" interview suggest there will be more than one interview?

2.On the NOA It says to bring a completed medical examination(I-693) and Vaccination supplement in a sealed envelope (unless already submitted) . For this would it be wise just to get a new medical examination done , even though I have already submitted the DS-3025, and have never recieved a RFE?

during my AOS application, i only sent the ds-3025 which my medical is still valid since i have it july 2015. in the interview notice letter, it says there medical from a civil surgeon UNLESS submitted already. Since i wanna make sure the interview will go smooth i did the medical before the interview, and that was the very first question they ask me during my interview. glad i have it. i was approved on the spot. so i suggest. rather do the medical besides its listed on the requirement.

Some will be RFE'ed for the medical at the interview if it's over a year old and some where not asked for it, it depends on the IO and

if you don't want to spend the money then wait, if you want to be approved right away then bring it to the interview to be sure.

They may or may not. I personally suggest people wait until asked through an RFE or at the interview. Plenty are approved without getting another medical done, and technically, the USCIS policy says a K-1 adjuster should not have to get another if they filed within a year of the K-1 medical and had no medical conditions. > http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/555299-medical-will-expire-before-the-aos-interview/?p=7703568

Lou,

here is what it says on The USCIS website

If you are applying for adjustment of status, you may submit Form I-693 in one of the following ways:

  • Submit Form I-693 by mail, together with your Form I-485, Application to Register for Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, to the location specified for your Form I-485 (see “Direct Filing Addresses for Form I-485”).
  • Submit Form I-693 by mail, after filing your Form I-485, to the location specified in your most recent communication with USCIS (for example, a Request for Evidence letter from USCIS).
  • Submit Form I-693 in person, at an interview in a USCIS field office (if an interview is required).

Other applicants: Follow the instructions on or included with the application or the instructions given to you by the office requesting the medical examination.

So I would definitely bring it to the interview.

This thread is about those adjusting from a K-1. A new medical is not required if they had their K-1 medical exam within a year of applying for AOS. Please see the info in the link I posted above.

My mistake Kay,I guess I wasn't very clear, I was trying to say I would bring the Existing medical info to the interview. That's what we did, When we went through K-1.Then again I was overly retentive.
