They made a mistake on our case, do I phone or e-mail Montreal?

So, hopefully this will answer a question! They made a mistake on our case after it went through NVC. They switched my first name to the old name I used (that I had to put down as an alias). It only happened AFTER it hit NVC and got sent to Montreal, as I've phoned in and used my name to get the case # and it's on all the official papers except the NVC letter (our NOA2 was in the proper name!). I am slightly panicking about this now.

Do I phone them? I think their number was 514-398-9695? Or do I email them for a faster response? (I think it was the montreal-niv@state.gov?). And is this going to put a flag on our case? I don't understand how the mix up happened as everything was 100% right as rain! We even included my name change certificate in case they needed that, since some of my passport stamps were in my old passport! (We included my official passport picture as well).

out of curiosity, what is your legal name on your passport? Is it the "old" name or the "new" name?

It's the new name! I made sure to change everything legally about a year ago (birth certificate, passport) before we started this process.

Edit* I should note that every single piece of confirmation of ID I sent in, minus the one passport that had the stamp for visiting him before I changed my name, has been in my new name. Even the NOA2 hardcopy letter had my new name on it. The hard copy from NVC suddenly switched to the old name - and no one mentioned anything to me about it not being the name on the application when I phoned in (I had been phoning in and using the new name as well). Today, when I phoned to get the invoice, they said it wasn't the name on the case and I had to use the old name.

I would contact Montreal. You cannot call them, that's only for citizens needing help. You will need to email them. Make sure to register your interview and your medical with your new name. if your P4 has your old name and Montreal cannot fix it, bring both passports, your name change document, and everything else when you do your interview.

Thanks for the suggestions and I'll definitely e-mail them tonight then! I had sent in the DS-160 with my new name (old name as an alias, same as last time) and I'm hoping that it won't cause the case to slow down.
