My husband and I received a rfie in the mail last week. Turns out we had used a outdated version of the medical form. In the letter is states not to mail in any documentation and to wait for further instruction. Today out of curiosity we called to find out the status of the case. We learned that our interview has been scheduled for tomorrow at the Orlando office. We never received a notice for the interview and apparently it was mailed on April 6!

We were told we could reschedule so a request was sent to the Orlando field office. We were told that the field office could accept or reject our request to reschedule. On top of that we have to have a new medical completed as the last medical is dated 5/23/15.

Any suggestions on how to handle this.

First thing, go to interview. Worst case, you get another RFE for the medical.

Depending on the time of the interview, try to get the medical redone first thing in the morning.

Get a good night's sleep tonight :)

We are not even sure what time the interview is or where it is. The uscis representative sent a request to reschedule. But I'm still very nervous.

Call and find out and go anyway in case they deny your reschedule request.

If I were you, I would bring all my evidence from the I-485 packet, and show up at 9 and tell them that you never got a letter but were informed by the phone people that you had an interview today.

That is, if I couldn't get the time from the phone people (you may not be able to).

Or, you could not go and you might get denied, then you would have to call and show that you did request reschedule, and get them to reopen the case. But I personally think that is more worrisome than just going tomorrow.

I agree with Harpa Timsah. If you search the forum you will see many couples that have requested to reschedule interview, not gone to the original interview and then their request to reschedule were denied and subsequently their AOS was denied.

Thank you ladies

I will be taking your advice and attending the interview.

My husband and I will be there at 8 with all of our evidence.

I just can't believe they wouldn't send a proper notice by mail or email. If we hadn't called today we would have never known.

Thanks again.

They probably did send the notice, you just didn't receive it.

The mail service is not all that reliable. I get my neighbor's mails in my box frequently.
