Hi,

I have received a RFE to submit a missing page in I-20 on April 29th 2016 this is 77th day already. I read online the clock will be reset once the RFE is sent and it may take 90 days to get a response is it true?

I also have a offer letter that I have to join on June 6th which cannot be extended, please help me how to expedite the process. My case is with potomac service center and they are processing EAD cards in 60-70 days way less than 90 days period. I read that if I raise a expedite based on my offer letter they will deny it because the clock as been reset.

I am in very confused state this may lead to loose my offer with the company even if its the period of 60 days. can any please help me how to proceed with this?

Thank you

USCIS always writes 60-90 days as an estimate. Individual case response/processing times may vary. To expedite your case:

1. I see that you are on a F-1, I would contact your designated school official who can send an email to the Potomac USCIS on your behalf to expedite your case (with the receipt/case number for your EAD) and have them write that you have a pending job offer beginning June 6th.

2. Make an Infopass appt at your nearest field office (earliest appt may not be for weeks). Bring all your receipts and your offer letter. If possible , have your employer send you a letter saying your offer will be terminated if you are not approved for a EAD (proving financial burden).

3. You can try walk-ins to your nearest field office if you can't wait until your appt. Reading forums, people have had varying levels of success with this in terms of seeing an officer and being able to request an expedite.

4. Call USCIS immigration at their 1-800 number and ask to speak to a tier 2 representative who can record an expedite request on your case. You may have to call multiple times to get an officer willing to do that for you.

5. Send an expedite request letter with tracking to the Potomac Service Center (I've sent letters to the Potomac office previously and one of my letters was never delivered...so get tracking on it!) Include your offer letter, and proof of financial burden if you are not approved.

6. Talk to your employer, but if you receive an approval letter (which many people do 1-2 weeks before their actual card), you may be allowed to start work without receiving your actual EAD card.
