Hi,

My wife and I had our first son in December, and we plan on traveling to her home in Kazakstan this summer for her family to see the child.

Her U.S. "stuff" all has her married name ... Green Card, State ID, and so on. Her KZ passport has her maiden name.

(1) When I buy a ticket, which name do I use? International flights ask to see the passport? Maybe on the flight out her "maiden" name and on the return flight her "married" name? No, that doesn't work either.

(2) Should we have any concerns traveling with our son Alexander (Sasha) who has my name (wife's married name). We got his a U.S. passport and are working on the KZ visa.

(3) When we get to KZ, we want to update her passport to reflect her new name. The KZ language and regulations are a bit different than in the U.S. We have a certified/stamped marriage license from a county in Ohio. We could also get it notarized here in the U.S.? Or translated and notarized? Maybe it is better to have it translated there. Regard, we need help understanding what the U.S.-equivalent of apostillized is?

Copies of the certificate of marriage / divorce. (If the document is issued outside of the Republic of Kazakhstan, its neobhodimoapostilirovat (ie take the confirmation of the US authorities on the authenticity of the document, an apostille certifies the signatures on the document, the capacity in which the person signing the document, as well as, in some cases, the authenticity of the stamp or seal, fastening document

Thanks in advance.

You book the flight in the passport name. Bring the marriage certificate with you so when you return to the US, she can show her passport, her green card and the marriage cert.

Wouldn't a certified marriage certificate in English be sufficient in Kazakstan?
