Medical examination Sydney: do previous vaccines/chest x rays count?

So things are moving very quickly now! I have my visa interview date confirmed. Now I need to book in a medical exam and I have some questions about that.

* I've had a chest x-ray done before showing that I don't have TB can this be accepted? If so does that mean I don't have to pay the fee for the chest x rays?

* I've had most of the vaccines required done before and with results, will this be accepted as well?

* The panel physician I'm seeing is charging $457AUD is this fee right?

Thanks in advance!

Chest xray is no good, they will do their own regardless.

As for the vaccinations, as long as they are legitimate medical records they should be accepted.

I'm not sure on the price, as I haven't personally had a medical done in Australia. I am sure others on here can tell you what they paid. UK medical was £250

Cost f the medical sounds about right, I'm having my medical done in Brisbane and it will cost me $485, pretty sure the cost of the X-ray is included in that though :)

I had my medical done in Sydney, I cant remember the actual cost of the medical it's self but you do have to pay for the x-ray separately. The other cost I recall was a blood test which was a requirement, the cost of that was around $35.00.

I recommend getting a blood test done through your general GP to show what vaccinations you've already had then if you're required to have more vaccinations get these done before the medical to save on cost. I took the printed form I received from the blood lab with the required vaccination results to my medical and that was accepted.

Good luck :)

Thanks for the suggestion. I've still got the blood tests that I've done in the past showing immunity so I think I should be good to go.

Although I didn't get the flu vaccination which I should have gotten when my work place was offering it for free!

Sanbot:

Get the flu shot at GP... cheaper than at the medical exam.

Get a letter from your GP for vacination... and flu shot... save you round 100 bucks. :D

Yeah I ended up just bringing my past records of vaccinations and it was all good.

My partner had her medical at ANZAC Square in Brisbane last week. It costs $465 AU + any required vaccines. There are 3 - MMR ($50?), Influenza ($20) and DTP ($30?). The websites say you need like 8 vaccine shots and that they cost a million dollars, ignore them. Our total cost was $550 including vaccines

That's where I'll be going, how long did it take? Thankfully all my immunisations are up to date ?

About 3 hours. Our appointment was meant to be at 1:15 but doc was running behind. The actual appointment was probably an hour, then you have to go to the nearest bathroom in Sofitel to the urine sample, then over to the nearest pathology for the blood test (it's to test for syphilis but its required even if you have already tested for it). You also need to go somewhere for the chest x-ray. The machine was broken so my partner had to go back the next day, her documents were then ready for pick up 3 days later. Make sure you DO NOT open the results!!! It doesn't say on the envelope but the lady told us not to open, it's for the interview.

Happy to provide more notes on the medical if you want. You'll need medical records that prove you've had those vaccines, if you can't get the letters, they'll give you a booster or the vaccine again.

Cool, thank you. Something to look forward too lol. Off to my doc this week to get proof of my vaccines, so pretty much got everything covered. One more thing though, the price they charge does that include X-rays and blood tests?
