Questions about the AOS process

Ok so my wife came here in November on a K1 visa and we were married in January, I filed for the AOS in February. We had her bio metrics done about a month ago, and now we received her green card in the mail. I have a few questions. 1) I thought there was supposed to be an interview and she would get a passport stamp? 2) Can she now travel freely home to visit her family if needed, she doesn't have to worry about not being able to re-enter the US? 3) When I received the email notification that our I-485 has been approved it said that we needed to follow instructions on the paperwork that was mailed to us, but there aren't really any instructions so I'm wondering what our next step has to be, I don't wanna miss anything important so any advice would be much appreciated.

Also anything else you can think of that needs our attention at this stage of the visa process

Your wife can travel abroad whenever she wants now she is a green card holder. Not everyone has an interview, I never. Just start getting information for ROC. in 21 months time. And congratulations on getting her green card.

1) If she has the actual green card and not the EAD/AP combo card then there will be no interview. And interview does not always occur.

2) Yes, with a green card she can travel freely.

3) Since a green card was issued there are no further steps.

Removal of conditions. Its when you need to send in all the evidence you have of a bona fide marriage. you then get a 10 year green card.

If you look at the expiration date on her greencard you'll notice that it expires in two years. It's because they threw on a two year condition. 90 days before it expires you need to file paperwork to take off those conditions in order for the greencard to be a 10 year one.

Many don't have an interview and there is no stamp, just the GC.

Read up on the ROC process, that needs to be filed within a specific time frame. Other than that, nothing else to do.

She has a sister that lives in england and was wondering if she would be able to travel there with the green card or would she still have to get a visa to travel there?

Yep! She can travel anywhere outside the country with her green card. Green Card is the ticket that will allow her to get back into the US "a-ok"

If she travels to England she needs to check visa requirements there (not sure what nationality she is). Many nationalities need visas.

The green card is for entry into the US, so she should be fine getting back into the USA after her UK trip.

Your wife needs to check the Visa requirements for U.K. according to the country she belongs to.I don't think,having a green card,will make her eligible to travel there without a visa.A green card is for entering USA without a Visa.

She will need a standard UK visa to visit England with a passport from Peru.
