90 days in AP- call to pick up passport today, but no visa yet.

90 days in administrative processing. The case has been updated 4 times in two weeks, however We received a call today telling us to come and pick our passport up only, we asked about the visa and was told it was still in administrative processing, but to come pick the passport up just in case we needed it.

has anyone ever been in this situation. What is going on?

Unfortunately, extensive AP is common in your country. It could take months or years.

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.

 

K1 process

9/24/15: I129f sent

9/30/15: NOA1

11/2/15: NOA2

Delayed processing due to work

3/15/16: Medical

4/28/16: Interview (approved)

Delayed entry due to work

8/12/16: POE Detroit

 

9/4/16: Wedding!

 

AOS process:

9/9/16: I485/I131/I765 sent

9/14/16: Received 3xNOAs by text/e-mail (day 2)

9/14-18/16: Received 3xpaper NOAs 

9/23/16: Received biometrics appointment letter (day 11)

10/3/16: Biometrics appointment (day 19)

11/4/16: EAD+AP approved (day 53)

11/16/16: EAD status changed to card shipped (day 65)

11/17/16: EAD/AP combo card received (day 66)

12/30/16: Notice of interview scheduled (day 109)

2/1/17: AOS interview (day 142) - APPROVED

2/8/17: GC received (day 150)

To me, it sounds strange that they would ask you to come pick up the passport but perhaps that's how they do it at the embassy in Nigeria. Have you checked the regional forum? They can give you more specifics to your embassy

Dec 21st 2015 - 221(g) issued at interview for updated forms


Jan 13th 2016 - Mailed our reply to the 221(g) to the US Embassy, received and CEAC updated the next morning


Jan 20th 2016 - Embassy require more in-depth info on asset for i-864


Feb 1st 2016 - Sent more in-depth info on assets as requested. Received the next morning


Feb 16th 2016 - Visa has been issued :dancing: :dancing: :dancing: :dancing: :dancing:



In the US


April 5th 2016 - POE Newark. No questions asked.


April 14th 2016 - SSN received


May 10th 2016 - First day at my new job :dancing:


May 27th 2016 - Green Card received


June 7th 2016 - Got my Texas driver's license

Really sorry for the lengthy delay. We were just put in AP on thursday the 28th.

Now is the time to get your Senator or Congressmen involved.

This can happen if they. Feel it's going to take a while. I mean they don't want to have to deal with your passport getting misplaced.

Also since it's been past 6p days have ypu tried contacting the embassy to get any idea what's up?

Were you given a contact sheet to fill out of people you know in Nigeria?

We were not given a sheet to complete of people we know in nigeria. And how do I contact my senator or congressman in North Carolina to address this issue?

Google it. Just ask "who is my representative"?

A website cones up you put in your zip code and ur will tell you who is your congressman, senator.

Than you just email them they then contact you send you a form to send back giving them permission to inquire on your behalf.
