NOA1 - NOA2 current wait-time is 3 MONTHS?!

Hi,

My USA fiancé and I received our NOA1 5 days after filing, however we just received an email from our attorney today stating that the current wait-time is 3 months for NOA2. That doesn't seem right, especially since it's being processed at the California Center and I'm Canadian.

The attorney said not to expect anything before the END OF JULY.

Any one else receive this information or aware of potential backups at the CA center? Thanks.

Yes CSC is experiencing some delays. I am currently on day 63 awaiting word on my NOA2.

Yeah it's about 2 months now if there is no RFE's ... And you being Canadian can't help you anything.

??? count yourself lucky if it comes in 3 months, those who were at Texas service center a bit over a year ago were taking 9 to 15 months. Don't expect that the country you are from to expedite it unless they suffer a natural disaster such as a typhoon.

You really need patience to do this immigration stuff, especially if you adjust from a fiancé visa and get the dreaded interview waiver letter. It was taking some of them 18 months to get their green card after filing adjustment of status. I was blessed to get an interview even though I statistically shouldn't have because I was a fiancée visa and from the uk.

I'd love to wait only 3 months for the NOA2. Try 6 months for married couples.

Lucky if you get it in three months or less...I say even waiting for up to 6 months beats waiting for a year or more.

I would say that sounds about right. They seem a bit slow lately? February has had a week where some people haven't heard anything! My own (and I'm from Canada too) took around two months and we were lucky. Just prepare yourself for long waiting times. That's really the best thing you can do! The wait doesn't end after you get the NOA2!

True! .... The NVC has slowed down a bit it's no longer 2 weeks but more like 3-5 weeks before you get the case number so also a wait there..

I think you should be happy with 3 months!!! Go back and look how long it took last year around this time!!

I am waiting for my NOA2 as well should get here in may sometimes I am guessing

We went through the CSC, got our NOA1 on January 11th, had no RFEs, and just got our NOA2 on April 14th - a grand total of 94 days. I've seen people getting theirs in less than that, but I was grateful and surprised to get it when we did because I'd just seen 5 months as a processing average on the site. We were prepared to have to wait even longer than we did.

The average processing times for I-129F petitions at the CSC is actually FIVE months. https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processingTimesDisplay.do

Your attorney was being optimistic when he said not to expect anything before the end of July. In reality, if your case follows what is average, you may be waiting until September. This is normal and within normal processing time frames.

Expect it to take at least 5 months from your NOA1 date. Be surprised if you are approved much earlier than that.

That was In the fall at that time they were very fast. As of March 2015 all I-129F goes to California so they are starting to slow down a bit but it's still fast processing.

There is no average of one month now.

So once the NOA2 goes through is the rest going at the normal speed?
