Our i-129f from was approved and the embassy in Seoul has received it and sent my fiance a notice of it. We now have to fill out the i-134 affidavit of support form. The problem is the form is all about my US income and bank deposits. I have not lived in America for the past 4 years. I'm 28 years old, so before I came to Korea I didn't have much money. The majority of my assets are in Korean currency. I have paid Korean taxes and have been exempt from US taxes the past 4 years as well. The problem is how do I fill out this form when all of my assets are in Korean currency and bank account and tax returns are all in Korean too.

Thanks for your help

Are you exempt from filing or from paying US taxes? Important difference. USC's normally have to file taxes also on foreign earned income, even if they are exempt from paying them.

If you can't show US income or assets that will be available in the US, you need a joint sponsor.

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.

I have reported my income.

Do you have a link that shows you how to file with a sponsor?

You fill out a I134 with supporting docs, and your co-sponsor does the same. The co-sponsor must reside in the US and have income/assets above the poverty threshold for his own dependents + you and your fiancé.

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.

So I would not list any money I have in a foreign bank account on the I-134 form?

Thanks for your help A'N'L

The USC petitioner is not counted in the co-sponsor's household size unless the co-sponsor claims them as a dependent on their taxes.

You can still list your assets/foreign income on your I-134. The reason you need the co-sponsor is because you have no current permanent US income that will be ongoing.

On Line 10 of the I 134 form do you put the petioner and the child that is coming with him?

The petitioner is the USC that filed the I-129F.

The K-2 child would be listed in #3. The person that the I-129F petition was filed for(beneficiary/foreign fiance(e)) would be listed on #10. There was no separate petition filed for a K-2 child. It is a derivative visa.
