STD's and gender confirmation, scars etc.

Why? (not pointed generally at you)

Like why scars? and the blood test is for the syphilis and why would gender confirmation be something that they need to check?

I have often wondered why they need to verify your gender. In the past, before same-sex marriages were legal, I could understand that they wanted to check that the applicant for a K1 or CR-1 was the opposite sex of the petitioner but that's not necessary anymore.

Can you opt out or not?

If you do not want to do the medical you can not be forced to do so.

Q58. Are pelvic exams, pap smears, and gonorrhea and chlamydia tests recommended as part of the immigration medical exam?

A58. Yes. The CDC’s Technical Instructions specify that the medical examination must include a physical examination that includes, at a minimum an examination of the eyes, ears, nose and throat, 16 extremities, heart, lungs, abdomen, lymph nodes, skin and external genitalia.

An inspection of the external genital area is required because several STDs are included among the medical conditions that may make an individual inadmissible to the United States

Done with K1, AOS and ROC

Based on what I've seen here on the matter, even though it should be same for everyone, it's very much country-specific whether you have to drop trou or not.

P.S. It's a doctor, whether you're guy or gal, they've seen it all and are very professional about it, no need to stress over it IMHO.
