Hi,

If my mother has two nationalities and one is the American but she has never lived in U.S, I understand there's a possibility If I have a joint Sponsor. Someone has a sample letter explaining she doesn't live in U.S, work and pay taxes there, and that I will have a joint Sponsor. Please I need help in the process, I'm lost

Thanks.

hi

is she living in the US now? because she has to live in the US for you to get a GC

she can have a joint sponsor, but even if she has lived abroad, that doesn't excuse her for not filing taxes if she qualified to do so

Well, supposedly she has to say because she has never lived in U.S she can say she doesn't pay any taxes. Or is a problem if she hasn't?

One of the requirements to be a joint sponsor is residency in the USA. she can not be your sponsor if she is not living in the USA.

Ah! I see. I used a joint sponsor and wrote a to-the-point cover letter, not including any details that weren't relevant. I don't think you need to mention about your mother not having any income or residing outside the US. just write letter with bullet points, mentioning the items you're including in the package. i864 form, w2, paystubs, job letter etc. and that's it. all of this on the joint sponsor's behalf. would you like to see what I wrote?
