Dear friends, could you help me please with two questions about CR-1 visa interview:

1) Is there any ways how I can figure out when my interview will possibly happen? Some specific timing or any other way after I receive the letter that case is completed?

2) on Interview I have to bring

  • Evidence of financial support (e.g. Affidavit of Support, a notarized offer of employment, or evidence of assets)

So do I have to bring the same form that we already submitted to NVC , I-864, do I have to take original or copy and what else- I dont really understand that part.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH

Lubov

If someone can answer your questions it would help us also because we are getting ready to send the two packages to the NVC and we don't know if we have to send copies or the originals of the I864..

I know this is difficult, but I will keep trying. It will work because, this distance is nothing compared to our love.

10/2013 we met at church in USA, through some common friends. We became friends.

06/07/2014 we went to our first date. :dancing: Why did we take so long to go out? :ranting:

06/22/2014 I said YES.. I want to be your girlfriend... :luv:

07/16/2014 I had to come back to Colombia because my program was over

10/10/2014 My love met me in Colombia to spend my birthday weekend with me. We got engaged (L)

02/17/2015 - 03/09/2015 He came back to Colombia to visit me and met my family. :star:

05/12/2015 We couldn't stand the distance, so he decided to move here with me.

05/28/2015 We got married at the notary. 06/06/2015 We got married at church :D

12/03/2016  Moved back to the USA. 🥰

08/2020 Became a Citizen. 🇱🇷

08/2020 Applied to bring my mom. ❤️

02/28/2022 went to pick my mom to the airport in Florida 🤩

Yeah I don't know if I have to take an original of the I-864 to the interview also. And about the IRS taxes: do we have to send copies?

Only copies are requested sent to NVC. Keep originals for interview.

The #2 you mention must be specific to your embassy. So adhere to what they say.

N one can give you specific timing And I don't believe I have one other person ever from your country on my spreadsheet.

It's a big world out there no way to tell how many people are before you and waiting already for interviews. It's a wait and see. May scheduling should start end of this month probably the 28th. All you can do is wait.

See many embassies say bring updated I-864 well its tax season so many haven;t fed 2015 when they sent to NVC (like me) but it will be after April 18th when my interview happens so I need to being updated I-864.

Hope that helps a little. I now its crazy. :goofy:

Send only copies, copies copies. Originals or certified copies are for interview.. Employment letter is optional not required Assets if only for those using if their income is not enough of if they are using assets to bring up their income But it has to e at 3 times.

For example: If you were $3000 short of meeting the guidelines you would need to have $9000 in assets to use to meet the guidelines.

But waiting only for my embassy people, I mean only from my country, not for just standing in a Q of all people who waiting for interview in the whole world!??!

How can I find out if they need updated I-864 form? As we send original I-864 to NVC and the rest were copies of documents so I dont have it here in Latvia, plus my husband was sending docs from USA, so its confusing a bit, they already have those documents

You know if you need to bring an updated I-864 if you updated. Like I had said if you submitted 2014, 2013, 2012 to NVC now its time to file 2015 that's an update. That's how you know. You will know if you have updated information no one else will know but you.

As far as interview timing. I was speaking directly to just your embassy no one can tell you. You just have to wait like we all do.

No one can give you specifics since we don't know how many slots are available for upcoming interview scheduling. How many people are a head of you where you are in the queue for your embassy. It's a waiting patiently game.

Hi Lubov,

Please see my input to your questions below:

1. interview timeline is specified on this website (see link)

https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/immigrant-process/interview.html

"NVC schedules appointments one month in advance. The U.S. Embassy or Consulate General tells NVC what dates they are holding interviews, and NVC fills these appointments in a first-in, first-out manner. Most appointments are set within 60 days of NVC receipt of all requested documentation. However, we cannot predict when an interview appointment will be available."

You should note that some applicant's cases are different then yours, so might might be scheduled earlier than the timelines above, while some might be scheduled later. In my particular example it was exactly as they mentioned.

2. As per your second question, I would suggest you wait for the official letter from NVC where they will specify the exact documents you'll have to bring. They will also tell you if originals or copies needed. This information will be based on the specific requirements of the consulate where your interview will be held.

hope this helps

Dear friends, could you help me please with two questions about CR-1 visa interview:

1) Is there any ways how I can figure out when my interview will possibly happen? Some specific timing or any other way after I receive the letter that case is completed?

2) on Interview I have to bring

  • Evidence of financial support (e.g. Affidavit of Support, a notarized offer of employment, or evidence of assets)

So do I have to bring the same form that we already submitted to NVC , I-864, do I have to take original or copy and what else- I dont really understand that part.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH

Lubov

Wait for a week or so that will depend on your local embassy's slots for Interview. Bring the updated AOS form(original). I sent updated ones to my wife before as I had some changes on my financial status (I got promotions on the process). If you believe that there is no changes since you submit the AOS form, just bring that form again. And always think, you need to be with your spouse ASAP and I am sure you will pass your Interview. Good luck :dancing:
