Hi Everyone,

We are adjusting my husband's status from the K1, he's already had his biometrics. We received an RFE because (and I apologize, I'm at work and don't have the exact letter in front of me):

- on the page where you mark how many people are in your household, I put the total as one instead of two. 1 is not a valid entry.

- I did not make the minimum income requirements.

- I need to provide additional assets/ joint sponsor.

I originally submitted my tax returns for the last 3 years and letters from my two (now former) employers. I have switched jobs while this was all happening.

I'm planning to submit:

- tax TRANSCRIPTS from the last 3 years, which shows that my income in 2014 was $23,500

- W-2 from 2015 showing that my income that year was $36,0000

- proof of savings bonds (about $600 in total)

- letter from new employe saying i make even more than i did in 2015.

With all of this documentation, do I still need a joint sponsor? I clearly make well over the poverty line, there was just a small blip a few years ago when I was unemployed for a few months.

any advice would be appreciated!

To clarify, the RFE says

"Submit all supporting tax documentation, (w-2's, 1099's, Form 2555 and all supporting tax schedules) submitted to the Internal Revenue Service for the most recent tax year

The petitioner/sponsor must submit all supporting tax documents for the most recent tax year"

Are they asking for 2015 or 2014? Since we're now in the 2016 tax season?

Savings bonds aren't needed. That is only worth $200 of income.

You need to give evidence of your current and continuing income. That is typically several recent paystubs and an employer letter.

The transcripts for 2012 - 14 should be fine. A copy of your 2015 return (along with supporting docs) would be good if you've done it.

I had included employer letters in my original packet and plan on including one from my new employer. I have that, my 2015 W2 (my old employer just posted it to me yesterday so I haven't filed taxes yet). Would that be sufficient?

I make well over the poverty line but this RFE is freaking me out.

CURRENT and continuing income is what they want to see. Recent paystubs along with the employer letter are what they expect. W2 is information about the past.
