We got married October 2015 and applied for i485 and EAD combo card, all three cases were approved on same day (last Thursday) I just received my green card and it's calid for 10 years. Is this normal or do I need to get in contact with them?? I tought I was supposed to have a conditional card for 2 yrs and then get the 10 yr...

What happens now???

Looks like it's a mistake. If you've been married for 2 years then you would get a 10-year green card.

You should file an I-90 (there's no fee involved since it's their mistake) https://www.uscis.gov/i-90

If I make an info pass will I be able to receive the correct green card on spot??

I obviously don't want to risk my legal status and will file the I90 form.

Never ending nightmare

Nope, they may issue an I-551 stamp to you (so you'll be able to travel) but, you'll still need to file an I-90. It will probably take a few months to receive the new card.

Right, it's just a typo on the green card. You're still a conditional resident in their system and don't want to risk problems when filing for removal of conditions.

We have our honeymoon in exactly 2 weeks. Dont think we will be able to get an office visit by then.

If we go ahead and travel with the 10yr green card, will it be an issue coming back in? Its authorized but just with the incorrect expiration. Otherwise if we cant travel we are losing out on thousands of dollars on flight, hotel, all inclusive, fun stuff already paid for.

The reason they give you the I-551 stamp is because you'll need to send in the actual card with your I-90 and won't have any type of document evidencing you're a permanent residence while at CBP. The I-551 stamp serves as proof of this. So, I doubt there will be a problem since your AOS was approved and the 10 year date is just a typo on your green card.

If anything, carry a copy of your marriage certificate, EAD/AP card, and I797 notice just in case they ask more questions...

I'm considering to keep my GC until after the trip and then file the I90 and send it to get it corrected.

The lady at uscis wasn't sure I could use my EAD AP card to travel now that the GC had been issued.

Has anyone experienced this? Any suggestions?!

We cannot re book the trip nor camel without losing all the money we spent...

I think we should be okay using the green card on vacation and then filing the I90 to get it corrected once we return.

Its a legally obtained GC, only issue is the expiration which is not an issue when returning from a 5 day trip 2 weeks after it was issued.

To be on the safe side I would just go over to the local office and talk to them. Forget about making an info pass, you can still go there. You will be let in without an appointment and then a lady (or guy) at the desk will ask you why you're there. Just tell them you're about to travel and there weren't any info passes available and that you want to know if it's okay or if you need the stamp.

There's no guarantee of being let in the building without an appointment.

I kept my green card for a month so we could travel with it for our honeymoon. No problem at all coming back to the states! :) Just make sure you bring passport, GC and marriage certificate if you changed your last name.
