We see each other every 4 months, taking turns on who makes the visit.

It is difficult, painful and costly to maintain a marital relationship under these circumstances.

We went thru 6 years and i made 5 trips to Morocco spending over a month each time with 2 3 month visits

yes, it is hard

my husband is here now

seems immigration needs to make some changes

i read one post saying the agents are not trained properly

but as i see it the forms are often confusing like this:

how many people are you applying for? 1

put 1 for yourself +1

if married put 1 +1

now add them

which is 3 but my husband and i are only 2

in icome put last 3 years

now what is current income?

which to me is this year

NO it (acording to instructions) is also last year

Good luck

it is all worth it when finally you are here together

Why blame the agents?

They have thousands of applications to deal with.

It is the liars, the idiots and the frauds who are cluttering up the system for us

The forms are very easy

I havne't seen my fiance in over 6 mos. Our K1 has turned into a year ban and now awaiting waiver approval. The processing times are increasing and increasing in length. It's very frustrating. Been dealing with this since 07/2014. Don't know how or when it will end. Its the not knowing, not being able to plan anything that's most annoying. There are ALOT of things wrong with this immigration system. ALOT.

For my wife and I, we waited apart for 16 months, although the first 3 months were due to some circumstances that made it difficult to file after our wedding. No honeymoon. :crying:

Things to do while you're apart:

1. Brush up on your partner's language if it's different than yours

2. Read some books on early marriage issues. This is 95% psychology. A little dry but helpful

3. Start sharing personal finances, budgeting, etc. You'll have some big fights but it means once you're together you'll have many of those fights out of the way.

4. Deeper dives on knowledge of each other. Early on there's a tendency not to fully share, especially the darker stuff. If you're a jealous person, bring it up and work it out. If you're a depressive, perhaps on medication, bring it up. The more you know your partner, the better life will be when you're finally together.

Think of it this way... the more communication, money, psychology and personality issues that you iron out during the year long wait, the more smooth things will go once you're together. I wish I would have paid more attention to these issues before her POE.
